Measurement of Mechanical Quantities

Lecture Content:

  • Basics of measurement technology (meaning, requirements for correct measurement, national and international metrological infrastructure, traceability to the SI units)
  • Representation and dissemination of mechanical parameters (mass, force, torque, pressure, density)
  • Force measuring and load cell principles
  • Scales in automated industrial processes
  • Influencing variables and uncertainty calculation according to GUM Special topics (e.g. unit of mass according to the SI redefinition, atomic clocks, basics of GPS, coordinate measuring technology)
