Image Processing Module I: Industrial Image Processing

The course offers an introduction to the basics of image processing for use in measurement and testing technology. For this, the typical hardware components of an image recording system are considered, such as lenses, sensors, lighting strategies. Then topics of digital image processing such as gray value transformations, noise suppression, filters as convolution, edge operators, spatial and morphological transformations, segmentation methods, feature extraction and classification are dealt with. The theory is illustrated by practical application examples.
